Free mammograms and other women’s health screenings were offered outside of Bethesda Health Clinic in Tyler on Wednesday.
ETMC and Christus Trinity Mother Francis mobile mammogram units provided the screening’s as part of the Bethesda Clinic’s “Dia de las Madres” health event.
Maggie Hendrix with Susan B. Koman said that the goal of the event is to educate women about their chances of getting breast cancer.”
She says money raised at this weekend’s Susan B. Koman for the Cure Marathon in Tyler will go toward funding free breast cancer screenings.
“A lot of the grant money goes to help mammogram screening for women that either uninsured or under-insured,” Hendrix said.
