A Marshall died after losing control of his ATV and flipping over Saturday, July 15 according to DPS.
It happened just after 2 a.m. when 40-year-old Garfield Williams was traveling south in the grass along Bards Ferry Rd. approximately 8.7 miles south of the city of Marshall.
He attempted to enter the roadway from the grass and struck a culvert that was at the end of a private drive.
DPS said he was not wearing a helmet.
Williams was pronounced dead by Judge Pinson and his body was taken to Meadowbrook Funeral Home in Marshall.
