Officials extinguish fire at Athens plant

Dallas Manufacturing was evacuated after a fire broke out late Tuesday afternoon.

ATHENS, Texas — A fire at an Athens plant has been extinguished.

According to the Athens Fire Department, the blaze broke out around 4:45 p.m. at Dallas Manufacturing, located at 401 Athens Brick Road.

The AFD says the fire started in the front of the building.

The building was safely evacuated and firefighters were able to quickly put out the fire. No injuries were reported.

The outside of the building did not sustain any major damage. However, there was significant damage inside the building.

The plant specializes in the manufacturing of pet supplies, according to the company's website.

Officials say the cause of the fire is under investigation.
