UPDATE: According to TxDOT and DPS, an oversized truck-tractor with a flat bed trailer was hauling the oil tank westbound on Interstate 20.

The tank struck the bridge, causing the tank to roll off the trailer, over the concrete median barriers and into the eastbound lane.

Still no word on any injuries.


DPS is enroute to an accident involving a tanker trailer that separated from its cab and rolled onto the bridge support.

The bridge is closed, as well as one lane of eastbound I-20. Traffic continues to flow, but authorities advise to seek alternate routes.

No word on any injuries or if any other vehicles are involved in the wreck.

TxDOT officials are also enroute to evaluate the bridge structure.
