UPDATE: The City of Palestine has lifted the boil water notices for residents on Alta Vista Street, Salt Works Road, Shady Oaks Drive and Dee Ann Street.

The City of Palestine has issued a second boil water notice for a certain area of the city due to a line repair.

Residents on Salt Works Road from South Loop 256 to Bassett Road, Shady Oaks Drive, and Dee Ann Street need to boil their water prior to consumption.

Residents on Thomas Road, Chancellor Drive, Craig Drive and Court Drive are not subject to the notice.

Water for drinking, cooking, and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use to ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. Instead of boiling residents can purchase bottled water or obtain from an alternate source.

Water system officials will send out a notification when the water is safe for consumption.
