FRISCO - The Texas Tech football team has had a run of good quarterbacks over the last few years.
Now, the team has to find a new star...and the competition is wide open.
3 guys will compete to be the Red Raiders quarterback this year, and that includes former Gilmer and TJC star McLane Carter.
Head coach Kliff Kingsbury says the competition is wide open.
"It's exciting, it's a challenge, and we're fired up to see who kind of steps up during the competition and separates themselves."
The Red Raiders will open fall camp in a few weeks and they kick off the 2018 season September 1st when they play Mississippi State in Houston.
