TYLER - Back in June, Lee quarterback Chance Amie announced that he would be headed to the University of Houston next year. Of course, that was just a verbal commitment and nothing would be official until he signed his letter of intent.

On Wednesday, Amie was ready to sign his letter of intent. But, it was clear based on his attire, that he was not headed to the Cougars.

Instead, decked out in Syracuse University gear, Amie signed with the Orange.

Syracuse had been one of his final 4 schools and he made an official visit to the campus just last week.

While this was a last-minute change, heading up north may give Amie a chance to see the field earlier in his college career. And he's looking forward to having the chance to prove that he's an ACC quarterback.

Amie says, "As long as I take in my coach and work hard and complete all my assignments, I think I'll have a pretty big shot at the quarterback position."
