KILGORE - The Kilgore football team has a very run-heavy offensive game plan. And while the Bulldogs have some talented runners, their top recruit is actually a wide receiver.
On Wednesday, Jonathan Shepherd made his future plans official as he signed with Oklahoma State.
Shepherd didn't have the biggest season stats-wise (18 catches, 405 yards, 5 TD), but he's a big, physical receiver and the Cowboys could see his potential in a potent passing attack.
Shepherd had commited to OSU several months ago, but Cowboys head coach Mike Gundy made a visit to Kilgore last week, just to check in and make sure everything was still good with his WR recruit.
Shepherd says, "It's a good feeling, to be honest, finally getting the recruiting process of it over, being able to go home and say 'I'm a Cowboy now'."
