TYLER - The high school volleyball postseason is underway around East Texas. In the biggest class, it was a short postseason trip for Lee, as they were swept in the bi-district round by Conroe Oak Ridge.

On Tuesday night, 4A playoff action came to Tyler as Rusk and Kilgore met in a bi-district matchup.

Rusk was the top seed in district 16, and they kept rolling in their playoff opener, beating Kilgore 3 games to 1 (25-13, 25-19, 22-25, 25-21).

Rusk now moves on to play Paris North Lamar in the area round.

At the TAPPS level, Tuesday was a tough day for a pair of East Texas teams.

All Saints was swept by Austin Regents and Grace was swept by defending state champion Austin St. Michael's Catholic.

The UIL playoffs will continue through the state tournament, which will take place November 15-18.
