The Red Raiders made a strong statement in their season home opener against Corsicana on Saturday afternoon. Tyler Lee controlled the game from start to finish, as they enjoyed a 42-15 romping over the Tigers.
Senior quarterback Chance Amie put in a solid day of work. The University of Houston commit went 17 of 28 for 283 yards and 3 touchdowns. Junior tailback Ladarius Wickware added 83 yards on the ground and two touchdowns. The Red Raiders never trailed in the game, as they now move to 2-0 on the season.
After the game, head coach Kurt Traylor stated that he was overall pleased with his players. But he also included some words of wisdom, "Don't focus on the fruit, just focus on the roots. Just show up and work your tail off and great things are going to happen."
Next up for Tyler Lee is a Friday night matchup at Nacogdoches.
