(CNN) - Comedian Russell Brand is the latest victim of a prank called "swatting." Los Angeles Police responded to his home Monday afternoon after a 9-1-1 call about a man with a gun. Turns out the report was false. There have been several such "swatting" incidents targeting celebrity homes in Los Angeles in the past year. The name stems from the hoax's intended result-- a large scale response from police and SWAT. Other victims include Ashton Kutcher and Justin Bieber.

Funicello battled multiple sclerosis for more than 25 years.
