TYLER - Tyler Junior College will be holding a homecoming parade, pep rally and block party on Thursday, Sept. 15.
Festivities will be held on Jenkins Lawn at 6 p.m.
Admission is free and the community is invited to attend.
The TJC Apache Band, Apache Belles and TJC Cheer will perform. The Apache football team and 2016 homecoming court will be introduced.
Emcee for the parade and pep rally will be CBS 19’s Doc Deason.
Immediately following the pep rally, the block party will feature a festival atmosphere, including free food, fun and inflatables plus live entertainment by Lindale-based, Texas music artist Wayland Hicks and his band.
“We really want the community to be able to celebrate with us as much as possible,” Metke said. “So we’ve moved our homecoming parade, pep rally and block party to Thursday night to allow everyone to come and bring their families.”
Also on Thursday, Theatre TJC’s Second Stage will perform “The Complete World of Sports,” an interactive, family-friendly slapstick comedy send-up of ESPN’s “SportsCenter.” Show times are 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Also a 9 p.m. encore performance, in Wise Auditorium. Admission is free.
