Eric Sullivan, Sports Director
Eric Sullivan is the Sports Director for CBS 19 News. He comes to East Texas from Arkansas, where Eric was a Sportscaster for 9 years. One of Eric's main goals in TV news has always been to cover High School Football in the state of Texas and follow his favorite NFL team of all time, the Dallas Cowboys. That dream has now come true.
Eric grew up on a farm in the small town of Wickes, Arkansas (pop: 464) and graduated from Mena High School in 1994. After High School Eric went off to college to play basketball at Arkansas Tech University. During college is where Eric made the call to dive into world of TV Sports. After 5 years in Little Rock as a photographer and Weekend Sports Anchor at KTHV, Eric made the move to Fayetteville, Ark. He worked as the main Sports Anchor for KFSM-TV. During his 4 years in Fayetteville, Eric was named Favorite Sportscaster 3 years in a row. Then in October of 2006, made the move to East Texas to join the CBS 19 news team. Eric has covered SEC Football, Basketball, and Baseball for 9 years, where he followed the Arkansas Razorbacks to several Bowl games, one SEC Championship game, 3 NCAA Basketball Tournaments and two trips to the College World Series.
Eric also covered Boxing Middleweight Champion Jermain Taylor of Little Rock rise to the top the past 5 years. Eric's Mom and Dad still live in Wickes, and Eric's older brother Jason is the boy's basketball coach at Mena High School in Arkansas. He and his wife Lori have two kids, Jackson and Sara.
During Eric's free time he enjoys playing basketball, softball, and reading. During the summer you can find Eric on the lake somewhere water-skiing and hanging out.
