Dr. Freeman is the senior statesman of our group, practicing in Tyler since 1983. Born in Oklahoma City, he spent most of his formative years in Irving, TX. After earning a bachelor's degree in Physics from Tulane University in 1971, he continued his medical studies at Tulane on a Naval Scholarship. While at Tulane, Dr. Freeman was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. After graduating in 1975, he moved west to train in Internal Medicine at the Naval Regional Medical Center in Oakland, CA. He trained in gastroenterology at the Naval Regional Medical Center in San Diego from 1979 - 1981 and remained in San Diego, serving as staff physician at the Naval Hospital until 1983.

Dr. Freeman has practiced Gastroenterology in Tyler since 1983. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He has served as Chief of Staff at Mother Frances Hospital and Chief of Medicine at East Texas Medical Center. His clinical interests involve the entire spectrum of clinical gastroenterology. He is a member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Texas Medical Association, and Smith County Medical Association.

Dr. Freeman and wife Donna have 4 children, Laura, Lindsay, Luke, and Sarah. In his spare time he enjoys lap swimming, art glass, family vacations, working in the vineyard, and on the farm.
