Dr. Meyers hails from New York City. Born in 1952, he was raised on Staten Island. Dr. Meyers played Varsity Baseball for Columbia University while earning a BA in Biochemistry. Continuing his studies at the Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons, he received his MD in 1978.
Dr. Meyers also received a Navy scholarship in medical school and completed postgraduate training in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at the Naval Hospital in San Diego. After fulfilling his military commitment in 1986, he entered practice in Tyler. Dr. Meyers is an active member of the American Gastroenterology Association, American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Texas Society for GI Endoscopy, Texas Medical Association, and Smith County Medical Society.
Clinical interests include the entire spectrum of clinical gastroenterology with special interests in colon cancer screening and small intestinal video capsule endoscopy.
Dr. Meyers is married to wife Mary and has four children Kevin, Beth, Chris, and Erin. He is an avid runner and enjoys reading and gardening.
