Update: Workforce Solutions Will Layoff 48 Employees

Forty-eight staff members within the 14 Workforce Solutions East Texas (WSET) Centers have been notified their last day of work will be Friday, October 30, 2009. WSET's reduction in force is a result of the agency's state and federal funding dropping by approximately $1 million each of the past two budget years.

Employees experiencing layoffs may attend a Rapid Response session on Thursday, October 29. The session will provide an overview of the unemployment insurance process, WSET services and information on available training through the Workforce Investment Act.
 
The WSET Gilmer Center in Upshur County will not have a reduction in force. There are no plans to close any WSET Centers at this time.
