CBS 19 - The Eye of East Texas News - Staples Urging Voters to Support Prop. 11

Some East Texas organizations are joining forces with state officials to urge you to "Protect your Property."
Texas Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples made a stop in Tyler to urge East Texans to vote for Proposition 11 in the Nov. 3 election.
It would add wording to the Texas Constitution that would limit the use of eminent domain.
"It's so critical to our economy that we protect the rights of property owners," Staples said. "We need to put it in our constitution in way that as laws get changed in the future, that Texas will continue to be a protector of property owners rights."
Staples said Proposition 11 has bipartisan support and is backed by all East Texas state legislators.
