East Texas organizations are helping employers embrace disability in the workplace.
The City of Tyler joined with Workforce Solutions East Texas and other organizations to recognize National Disability Employment Awareness Month.
Brian Brown, who has cerebral palsy, was the keynote speaker. He is a graduate of East Texas Baptist University and has started his own motivational speaking business.
"For people looking to hire people with disabilities, just because he or she may have a disability, don't discount them just because you think they might not be able to prove themselves in the workplace," Brown said.
At this afternoon's event, booths were set up to help workers and businesses find out what disability resources are available in East Texas.
