
By Hayley Wielgus TYLER, TX (KYTX) - East Texans who devote their lives to foster care and adoption were honored for their to commitment to children at the second annual Datie Florence Brown Memorial Children's Award Luncheon. Recipients included Mr. and Mrs. Rocky Gill, founders of Hope for 100 at Green Acres Baptist Church, Reverend Pat Mallory, Director of Missions at First Baptist Church, and Joe and Cynthia McGill, who have been foster parents for 30 years.
"We have so many children who have been forgotten from their birth parents, forgotten from society, they've been left by society," said Rev. Jerome Milton, Pastor of Greater New Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church. "They have no hope, they have no help, they have no future, they have no dreams; we want to turn their nightmares into a better day.
The awards luncheon was hosted by Greater New Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church.
