Historical home destroyed by early morning fire

MINEOLA, TX (KYTX) - A Historical Home in Wood County is completely destroyed after an early morning fire Wednesday.

The 100-year-old home is said to be where Governor Jim Hogg lived during his early childhood years.

The house is located at the intersection of West Kilpartrick and North Johnson Street in Mineola.

Several fire departments from surrounding cities were called to help battle the blaze while the structure was fully engulfed.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time and is under investigation.
