WILLS POINT (KYTX) - On the afternoon of Monday, November 23, deputies were dispatched to Cash Relief Pawn on US Hwy 80 just east of Wills Point due to a stolen vehicle. A 1998 Ford Mustang was stolen out of the parking lot while the owners were inside the business.
A short time later, a concerned citizen called 911 and reported a blue Ford Mustang abandoned on a County Road. The citizen was able to give a description of the possible suspect's getaway vehicle.
Law enforcement agencies were on the look out for the Mustang, and at approximately 3:45 pm, the suspect vehicle was located and was followed to a residence outside of Canton. Law enforcement agencies from the County, including Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Wardens, Wills Point Police Department, and the Constables from Precinct 1 and 3 assisted Van Zandt County Deputies and Investigators in securing the property and persons.
Investigators were able to locate two stolen firearms that were removed from the stolen Ford Mustang. Three people were taken into custody for the criminal offenses. Those taken into custody were Jeromy Roberts, Shelly Foster, and Richard McIntire.
All three were charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity and Roberts was also charged with Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle. All were arraigned by Judge Shinn and bonds set at $20,000.00 each and $25,000.00 on the UUMV charge.
