A Tyler man has been arrested for online solicitation of a minor.
Victor Jerome Lee, 40, was arrested on Thursday after the case was initiated by the father of the minor, who reported to police that he found sexually explicit text messages on his 12 year old's cell phone.
Tyler police investigators were able to trace where the sexually explicit messages were being sent from and the identity of the sender. Investigators were also told that this case went beyond just text messaging, and that Lee had met with the juvenile in person in a parking lot in his vehicle.
Investigators believe that Lee intentionally would have engaged in sex with the juvenile, and Lee knowingly solicited to have the juvenile meet with him, via text message.
Investigators also discovered several prescription drugs in Lee's apartment that he was not in lawful possession of. His apartment is within 1,000 feet of a drug free school zone.
Victor Lee was placed under arrest at the Tyler Police Department when he met with investigators Thursday. He has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the prescription drugs, along with the online solicitation charge.
Bond was set at $500,000.00.
