Double rapist gets 70 years in prison

LONGVIEW,TX (KYTX)

A Longview man is sentenced for the attempted rape of a woman and 12-year-old girl in the same night.

Judge Alfonso Charles believes Larry Richardson is either a sexual predator or someone that turns into a monster when on meth. Richardson sobbed as he appeared today before Judge Charles to plead guilty to trying to rape a roommate's ex-girlfriend. 

In 911 tapes played during the sentencing phas of the proceedings, a woman calls longview Police at 1:10 am on April 4th.

"Longview 911, what's your emergency?"

"I am at the Walmart on Gilmer and I almost got raped," she cries.

Three hours after that he broke into a random home and tried to rape a 12-year-old girl.

"Someone's in our house," the 12 year old calmly states.

Dispatch:"Do you know who it is?

Girl:"No, oh my god!"

Dispatch: "Is she injured?"

Grandfather:"Yes, she's got scratches on her face she's got a bloody lip and scratches on her face."

Richardson minimalized his interaction with the first victim and admitted to shooting a gram of meth before each incident.

"When I did that I got so exhilarated and so high that I felt I had to just run wild," he said.

Richardson said he should be sentenced to 30 years for that night of terror, but prosecutor Jenny Huckle countered that it will take 30 years just to get the 12 year old to feel safe again.

"You went into a complete stranger's house and attempted to molest a little girl. It can't be just the drugs that did that, there has to be something in you. I'm not going to give you life," Judge Charles said as he rendered his sentence.

Instead, he doubled Richardson's request sentencing him to 60 years for the little girl and 10 for the assault on the roommate's ex girlfriend.

Richardson's previous two sexual assault convictions were in Washington state and involved his step and half sisters.
