(CBS) - An al Qaeda leader who is believed to have played a key role in the bombing of a CIA post in Afghanistan last year has apparently been killed.

A senior U.S. official says Hussein al-Yemeni died in a missile strike last week.

Seven CIA employees and eight others were killed in the attack last December.
