Diet soda increases risk of premature birth

(CBS) - Drinking lots of diet soda may increase a woman's chances of giving birth prematurely.

That's the word from a new study which found pregnant women who consumed at least one diet soda a day were 38 percent more likely to have a premature baby.

For those who drank at least four diet sodas a day, the risk was nearly 80 percent.
