"We have about 52 women who are members of our organization," said Lynne Culverhouse managing director of eWomen Network for Tyler/East Texas. "Our focus for the last few months is stepping outside of the business realm and examining ourselves and examining what makes us who we are," added Culverhouse.
The good, and the not so good. "My ability to deal with people and to make them feel appreciated and welcome. One that I'm not so happy about, tendency in my family is to overdo in everything that you do," said Culverhouse.
"I am a behavioral genetics facilitator," and Judy Smith is speaking to women like Culverhouse about a systemic psychology approach. "We all know that we inherit our physical characteristics from our parents. What most people don't know is that we also inherit our family nervous system," and Smith said it contains your emotional genes.
"Things like obesity, addictions, anxieties and panic disorders," and Smith said those dynamics can be addressed with behavioral genetics. "We can undo the hidden patterns and the current generation no longer is entrapped or influenced by the pattern that has been woven," added Smith.
Smith called it a process that leaves the power of change with each person. "I love that it puts control back with the person who needs it most," concluded Smith.
