Everyday Gourmet: Sausage rolls with mustard dipping sauce

Chef Simon Webster makes a crowd-pleasing recipe perfect for tailgating and game-watching parties.

  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 package of Texas Garden Chipotle Dip Mix
  • 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed according to package instructions
  • flour for dusting
  • 1 egg

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pork and spice mix until spices are well distributed. Place sausage in a piping bag with a wide round tip.

On a floured surface, unfold sheet of puff pastry. Using a rolling pin, roll slightly to smooth. Cut in half. Pipe sausage down the middle of each half. Roll up the pastry. Repeat with other half & other sheet of pastry.

Place rolled up pastry in the freezer for 15 minutes to firm. Remove and slice into 2 inch sections.

Place sliced pieces on a baking sheet and place in a preheated 375 degree oven for 15 to 25 minutes until pastry is golden and sausage is cooked through.
