Everyday Gourmet: Shrimp Saganaki

Christine Gardner uses some Greek-flavored sauces to change up your eating routine.

    TYLER -
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 dozen large shrimp (peeled, deveined, tails removed)
  • salt and pepper, for seasoning
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1 jar of Sagnaki sauce (heat in the microwave)
  • 1/2 cup feta crumbles

In a large skillet heat oil over medium heat. Add shrimp and sauté until pink and curled. Squeeze in the lemon. Remove shrimp from pan and stir into the heated sauce. Serve on crusty bread or rice. Top with the feta cheese crumbles.

NOTE: There are 3 other flavors of Greek sauces in the Kaldi line. Stifado which is the traditional Greek sauce for beef stew. Portokali which has citrus flavors, is good on fish or shrimp and can be served with orzo. Plaki is vegetable-based and is delicious tossed with green beans.
