Burger King employee credited for helping diabetic woman in drive-thru

AMARILLO, Texas — A Burger King employee in Texas went the extra mile when a customer in her drive-thru lane experienced her blood sugar level dropping. And now, the woman's kind gesture has gone viral.

Rebecca Boening said last week, she stopped at a Burger King in Amarillo, Texas when she noticed her blood sugar level had dropped to a dangerous level. She said she told the employee she was in desperate need of food and proceeded to drive forward. Around the bend, Boening said she saw the employee standing in front of her car — ice cream in hand.

The employee, Tina Hardy, told Boening her husband was diabetic and could tell she needed assistance. After receiving her food, Hardy then instructed Boening to park near her drive-thru window so she could keep an eye on her until she felt better.
