NACOGDOCHES — Jawonn Castleberry, an 18-year-old Nacogdoches man, was arrested after he and two other suspects allegedly robbed a Chevron at around 9:41 p.m. Sunday night on 3228 North Street.

According to the Nacogdoches Police Department, one of their officers was patrolling the North Street area when they saw several black men with masks on running away from the store.

After an investigation, authorities discovered that the three suspects went into the store, one showed a handgun and another showed a long gun and demanded money from the clerk.

The suspects left with an unknown amount of money.

The officer also saw one of those suspects carrying a long gun and radioed the incident to other officers.

Police then chased the suspects who ran in different directions and eventually found Castleberry at an apartment complex in the 3000 block of North Pecan.

Castleberry was arrested and taken to the Nacogdoches County Jail.

Authorities are still investigating the robbery and say "more arrests may be forthcoming."
