ETX Giving Day Spotlight: Treatment and Learning Center for Autism

As part of East Texas Giving Day, CBS19 is partnering with the East Texas Communities Foundation to highlight local groups leading up to the 18-hour event on April 24.

TYLER, Texas - The Treatment and Learning Center for Autism is one of dozens of organizations participating in East Texas Giving Day.

The organization is the only full time, center-based treatment facility in East Texas, accepting children from 18 months to 21 years of age.

According to the nonprofit's website, they work closely with families to identify their child’s needs, then provide individualized treatment to each child utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques.

Their goal is to reduce each child’s need for continuing 1:1 training by teaching functional skills that help them integrate into their natural learning environments.

The need to raise money to support their effort is one of the reasons why the nonprofit is participating in East Texas Giving Day.
