Texas A&M DT Zaycoven Henderson arrested on agg. assault, drug charges

Texas A&M defensive tackle Zaycoven Henderson was arrested early Sunday morning at the Campus Village Apartments at 1711 Harvey Mitchell Parkway in College Station.

Officials said they received a deadly conduct call around 2:27 a.m. reporting two males had pointed a firearm at several people and threatened to kill them.

When officers arrived at the scene, they located the suspect vehicle leaving the apartment complex. They stopped the vehicle and detained both occupants. Officers learned 23-year-old Henderson, who was a passenger in the vehicle, pointed a rifle at one of the victims and threatened the other two victims by stating he would kill them, College Station police stated in a press release.

Officers also discovered the rifle had been discarded by Henderson in a nearby wooded area close to where the original incident was reported. The rifle matched the description given by the victims.

Henderson was arrested and charged with three counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, one count of Tampering with Evidence, and one count of Possession of Marijuana less than two ounces.

The driver of the vehicle, 24-year-old Terry Lechler Florez Jr. was interviewed by police and charged with Possession of Marijuana less than two ounces.
