Troup Hwy traffic alert: U.S. Mail truck downs power lines

According to Oncor representatives, 1,350 customers experienced outages at 4:15 p.m. and services were restored less than two hours later.

Tyler police diverted traffic on Troup Hwy from Dennis Dr to South Fleishel Ave. after police said a box truck clipped a guy wire and downed a utility pole on Sat. 9, 2017.

It happened near the Green Acres Shopping Village where neighbors reported temporary power outages. Oncor Electric Delivery Company worked to remove the pole and temporarily repair the power lines. Long term repairs would normally take place at a later date, but due to the nature of the damage the pole will be replaced Saturday night.

According to utility representatives, 1,350 customers experienced outages at 4:15 p.m. and services were restored less than two hours later.
