TYLER — New batting cages are coming to Faulkner Park in Tyler.
On Wednesday, the Tyler City Council approved a $40,300 donation by Rose Capital West Little League for the new cages.
Director of Tyler Parks, Russ Jackson, said there are about 10 cages total in the entire city. With multiple tournaments and little league teams, he said the extra cages will be utilized and appreciated.
"They donated the funds to build the second set of batting cages," Jackson said. "It just enhances the functionality that the youth can practice with their swings, during practice, or between games."
Jackson said the upkeep and maintenance of the cages is up to Rose Capital West Little League.
