The National Weather Service sent a statement apologizing for the erroneous 'radiological hazard" alert issued Wednesday morning.

The statement read in part:

At 11 a.m., the Shreveport National Weather Service erroneously and inadvertently transmitted the routine NOAA Weather Radio Wednesday morning communications test under an incorrect header that triggered the Specific Area Message Encoder to display an incorrect Radiological Hazard Warning. The National Weather Service regrets any inconvenience to our listening audience.
