Eight Lumberjacks Take Part In SFA Pro Day

SFA held their annual Pro Day on Wednesday and 8 former Jacks players had a chance to show off their skills to a handful of NFL scouts.

LUFKIN, Texas - With less than a month to go before the NFL Draft, college football players are doing all they can to get on the radar of NFL teams. Most colleges hold pro days to give their players a chance to shine and on Wednesday, SFA had their pro day event.

8 former Lumberjacks, including quarterback Zach Conque and former JT star Justice Liggins went through a series of drills in front of NFL scouts.

Liggins took part in a regional combine a few weeks ago and impressed scouts at that event, boosting his chances of finding an NFL home.

Conque took several reps at the quarterback position on Wednesday, but he also ran through drills as a tight end, saying he's open to playing any position in the NFL.

While this was a big milestone in the evaluation process, the players can't relax now. They'll continue to work hard over the next few weeks with the hopes of hearing their name called during the NFL Draft (April 27-29).
