TYLER - The Lee boys basketball team has played 14 games so far this year. And in an unfortunate schedule fluke, every single one of those games was on the road.

On Tuesday night, the Red Raiders finally got to play their home opener. But this wouldn't be some pushover game. Instead, Lee took on Whitehouse.

This game was close for awhile, with Lee leading by a couple points at the half. But the Wildcats came out strong in the 2nd half and they slowly pulled away to pick up the 52-44 win.

Across town, there was another showdown between a pair of East Texas teams as the John Tyler boys took on Marshall.

The Mavericks did their best to keep the game close early on, but the Lions were just too much. They went on a run early to open up a lead and never looked back as JT beat Marshall 73-53.

The Lee girls might be the best big school team in East Texas this year. And they continued to roll on Tuesday night as they went to Liberty-Eylau and picked up a 42-23 win.
