The task seemed improbable. Facing an unbeaten team in the 3rd round of the playoffs, who boasted one of the top defenses in the state. Maybe that's all the motivation Longview needed to go out and deliver a victory on Saturday afternoon.

After falling behind 14-0 early in the game, the Lobos scored 23 unanswered points to defeat Klein Collins 30-24.

With the win, Longview is set to face Lufkin (who defeated Spring Westfield on Saturday) in the state quarterfinals. This game will be played next Saturday (Dec 9) at 2pm at Homer Bryce Stadium on Stephen F Austin's campus.

Both teams have met nine times in the playoffs, with Longview going 5-4 in those games.
