Palestine boys & Kilgore girls head to state semifinals

The Palestine boys and Kilgore girls soccer teams got big send-offs on Tuesday afternoon.

PALESTINE AND KILGORE - We had 2 East Texas soccer teams make the state tournament this year...the Palestine boys and the Kilgore girls.

On Tuesday, both teams made the trip down to Georgetown. But before they left, they each got a nice send-off from their classmates.

For Palestine, they're trying to erase the memory of losing in the 3rd round last year. The Wildcats are 34-0 and are one of the top teams in the state. They'll play Progreso in the state semifinals on Wednesday (at 6:30 PM). These two teams have some recent history...the Wildcats beat Progreso in the 2016 state title game.

For Kilgore, they're hoping to make history. The Lady Bulldogs have made the state semifinals just once before (2016) and that trip ended with a 6-0 loss to Kennedale in the semis. This year's team will face a very tough semifinal test as they face Jasper. The Lady Bulldogs (Jasper) will be making their 4th straight trip to the state tournament. Kilgore will face off with Jasper on Wednesday at 1:30.

All of the state tournament games will take place in Georgetown.
