JACKSONVILLE - The Kilgore Lady Rangers started off as a #3 seed battled their way through the Region XIV tournament to face #4 seed San Jacinto in the finals. The Lady Gators were able to build upon their lead during the game, while Kilgore caught up, but ultimately fell to San Jacinto 66-58.
The Tyler Junior College Apaches were also playing for a spot in the national tournament, they faced off against #9 seed Kilgore who has taken the tournament by storm. The Rangers were able to knock off #4 seed Blinn and #1 seed Trinity Valley. However, the Apaches were able to secure their spot by beating Kilgore 57-54.
The Apaches and the Lady Gators are the new men and women's Region XIV tournament champions.
