Divers recover gun used to kill Kaufman County assistant DA in Lake Tawakoni

KAUFMAN - The gun used to kill Kaufman County Assistant District Attorney Mark Hasse has been recovered from a North Texas lake.

According to an investigator who spoke on condition of anonymity, divers found two weapons early last month, and believe the one of the weapons was used to kill the Assist. D.A

Hasse was killed Jan. 31, 2013 as he walked to the Kaufman County courthouse.

Eric Williams and his wife Kim, who's case has not been moved out of Kaufman County, are accused of killing former District Attorney Mike McLelland and his wife Cynthia, and his former top assistant Mark Hasse last year.

The McLellands were killed in their home near Forney on March 30,2013.

Jury selrction for Eric Williams is under way in Rockwall.

The judge has said he hopes attorneys will begin interviewing potential individual jurors starting in early May, and have a jury seated by mid-August.
