Former Tyler pharmacist pleads guilty to sexual assault of a child.

TYLER (KYTX) - A former Tyler pharmacist, plead guilty to sexual assault of a child Monday.

According to Smith County District Attorney Matt Bingham, James Carey Prosperie, plead guilty to one act of sexual assault of a child, and one act of indecency with a child.

Prosperie was arrested at his home in the 1000 block of Jeff Davison September 3, 2013.

He was later released on $100,000 bond on September 5. He was formerly the owner of The Medicine Shoppe on 5th Street in Tyler.

A sentencing date has been set for May 8, 2014.
