(CNN) - The doctor convicted of causing Michael Jackson's death is released from jail.
Conrad Murray walked out of a Los Angeles county jail just after midnight Pacific Time. He was freed after serving two years of a four-year sentence. California prison rules allowed for the early release by giving additional credit for time served.
Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in 2011, after a jury found him guilty of administering a lethal dose of the painkiller Propofol.
