A teen passenger was killed and 3 injured just before 1 a.m. Thursday, June 29 in Harrison Co after the they were in lost control going through a curve according to DPS.
Bobbie Renee Burke, 17 of Gladewater, was pronounced dead at the scene by Clarice Watkins. It happened on CR 4310 seven miles west of the city of Harleton.
According to DPS, the preliminary crash investigation indicates 24 year-old Melvin Bradshaw was driving a 2003 Ford F-150 at an excessive rate of speed when he lost control in a curve. He was since arrested for intoxicated manslaughter and intoxicated assault among other charges.
The truck went into a side-skid and struck a tree with its right side before coming to rest.
Another passenger, identified as 19 year-old Shalynn Tipton of Longview, was transported to Good Shepard Marshall, in addition to 21 year-old Kyler McBride of Hallsville. Bradshaw was transported to the same hospital.
Burke’s body was taken to Meadowbrook Funeral Home in Marshall.
The crash remains under investigation.
