1 arrested in connection with weekend homicide in Longview

One person is in jail charged with murder in connection with the death of a man found with gunshot wounds in Longview over the weekend.

Cody Dewayne Fortman is accused of shooting Nicholas Trevion Johnson, 22, who was found shot multiple times inside a house on Annette Drive on Oct. 15. Fortman was identified as the suspect through cooperation with witnesses and arrested Monday afternoon.

Johnson was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Fortman remains in the Gregg County Jail on a $175,000 bond.
