2 Lufkin men arrested after reports of man pointing a gun at a woman

Lufkin Police Department:

LUFKIN (KYTX) - Just after 10 p.m. on Wednesday July 10, Lufkin Police received a call of a black male pointing a gun at a white female at Davis and Setliff Streets.

The first responding officers observed two men with a woman, with one of the men holding the woman by the arm.

The two men began to walk quickly away, and then increased their pace and ignored repeated commands to stop.  The men were apprehended after less lethal means were used to stop them. 

Officers witnessed Toma Barlow throw a handgun down while fleeing.  The other man, Marques J. Robinson surrendered and was found to be in possession two crack pipes.

The woman reported to officers that Barlow had entered the home of a mutual acquaintance where he pointed a handgun at her and took her from the home at gunpoint, threatening to shoot and kill her if she fled.

Both men were arrested for Evading Arrest. 

Barlow was also charged with Aggravated Kidnapping, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and outstanding misdemeanor warrants.

The victim was not harmed during the incident.
