2 Trinity Co. officers injured during traffic stop

TRINITY COUNTY (KYTX) - A Trinity County Constable and Deputy were hurt Thursday while attempting to arrest a man suspected of trying to runover pedestrians in his pickup truck.

Constable Mark Cole and Deputy Mark Mann were in persuit of the suspect's vehicle near the intersection of FM 356 and Denman when the officers attempted to stop the suspect.

During the attempt to get the suspect to stop his vehicle, Constable Cole was allegedly dragged several feet. Once the suspect stopped, Officer Mann was able to take him into custody.

Constable Cole suffered minor injuries and Deputy Mann was also hurt as well during the arrest of the suspect.

CBS 19 spoke with Constable Cole, he said he's sore and hope to back at work in a few days.

The suspect, Michael Harris, 44, is charged with felony assault of a public servant, felony aggravated assault of a public servant, and felony 3rd or more driving while intoxicated.
