3 arrested for drug charges after Rusk Co. sheriff raids home

(KYTX) - The Rusk County Sheriff's Office executes an evidentiary search and arrest warrant on Rusk County Road 2125 on Tuesday.

This warrant was pursuant to an investigation being conducted based upon allegations of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, weapon offenses, and the allegation of the manufacture, distribution, and possession of methamphetamine.

Members of the Rusk County Sheriff's Office, Henderson Police Department, and the Rusk County District Attorney's Office executed the warrant at a residence occupied by Cody Loftis 29 of Henderson.

Confiscated during the warrant was suspected methamphetamine, suspected stolen firearms, and a vehicle confirmed as stolen out of Austin, Texas.

While executing the warrant three individuals identified as Travis Todd 28 of Longview, Donald Deerinwater 51 of Kilgore, and Robert Baker 37 of Henderson were arrested after they arrived at the Loftis residence and were found to be in possession of suspected narcotics.

Todd was charged with Possession of Marijuana Under Two Ounces a Class B Misdemeanor, and both Deerinwater and Baker were charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group I less than one gram (methamphetamine) which is classified as a State Jail Felony.

No occupants were located inside of the Loftis residence at the time of the search. Loftis currently holds an outstanding warrant for the offense of Aggravated Assault which is a felony of the second degree.

Controlled Substance and possession of stolen property charges are currently pending on Loftis.  The search warrant and the arrest warrant were issued by Rusk County , County Court at Law Judge Chad Dean. 

The investigation into the allegations of criminal activity occurring at the Loftis residence will continue to be investigated by the Rusk County Sheriff's Office.
