3 Westside firefighters hospitalized for heat exhaustion

CHANDLER (TYLER MORNING TELEGRAPH/KYTX) - Three Henderson County firefighters were rushed to the hospital for heat exhaustion after battling a house fire in the Point Royal subdivision outside of Chandler. 

Smith County Fire Marshal's Office told the Tyler Morning Telegraph that three firefighters are being transported from a scene on Royal Drive off of Farm-to-Market Road 315 south.

East Texas Medical Center EMS transported the three firefighters. One of the injured fire fighters is being treated at ETMC Tyler and the other two are at Trinity Mother Frances.

Fire officials from the Brownsboro Fire department report the responders are expected to make a full recovery. Their names haven't been released yet.

A dog died from smoke inhalation, but no one else was injured. The owner of the home, Guy Hudson, told us his home may be a total loss and he is staying with neighbors for the time being.
