4 East Texas student mascots make appearance at Capital One Bowl

(KYTX) - Four East Texas student characters celebrated the New Year from a special place in Florida.
The mascots from Hubbard Middle School in Tyler, Arp, West Rusk and Joaquin High School are All-American Mascots and got to represent their schools during the Capital One Bowl pre-game show earlier today.

These mascots were part of a group of 44 mascots from across the country and talked about their special experience in Orlando, Florida.
Here's what they had to say:
"I'm learning how to improve and get the crowd spirited and everything and I needed help on that so I think that's something I can bring to the basketball games," Hannah Maynard, Hubbard MS Huskie.

"My team didn't get to come and so I feel like I'm representing them and they really will appreciate them and it's so much fun. I never thought I'd have so much fun," Nicole Thompson, Arp HS Tiger.

"It makes you feel good, it's makes you feel good about yourself knowing that you pushed yourself so hard to get somewhere you really want to be," Olivia Worsham, Joaquin HS Ram.

"Intimidating, nerve-wracking, but it's really cool, it's awesome. Do you think you'll mascot again next year? Oh without a doubt," Grant Sudweeks, West Rusk HS Raider.
CBS 19's Amanda Roberson was there supporting her sister- Cowboy Carl from Coppell - and got to talk with our East Texas mascots and support them too.
